Is now the time to invest in real estate? Are you thinking about short sales?

Real estate short sales can be challenging!

If you are dealing with a short sale you may experience a lot of frustration and delay

In 2011, California Association of Realtors made short sales and distressed properties one of its top priorities. As a result, C.A.R. launched ShortSalesCalifornia.org. The site not only provides up-to-date information about changes to lenders’ policies, but also serves as a resource for REALTORS® and consumers involved in these challenging transactions.

On the site, visitors will find short sale and distressed properties news, foreclosure timelines, legal Q&As, a short-sale glossary, a discussion forum where REALTORS® can ask questions of other agents, and much more.

If you’re thinking about selling your home as a short sale or are interested in purchasing a short sale or REO (real estate/bank owned) property, please give me a call to discuss your options:  (310) 426-8811

Rolling Hills Real Estate Features – Georgeff Trail

The Rolling Hills trail system is a treasure valued by Rolling Hills residents and equestrians from outside the city alike.  One of my favorites is Georgeff Trail.  The trail head is just off of Crest at the top of Georgeff Road.  It heads north and will soon be re-connected with the Riding Ring.  If you’re on the trail as the sun is setting, you can see some spectacular scenery when the angle of the sun reflects off the skyscrapers downtown.  Spring flowers abound and summer brings delicious blackberries to those looking for a sweet, organic treat!  The trails, riding rings, tennis courts and rural atmosphere are amazing amenities.  If you’re considering purchasing real estate on the Peninsula and are considering the importance of a serene, natural atmosphere please give me a call.  I’ll be happy to share my first hand knowledge and experience:  310.426.8811.

32548 Coastsite Drive – Ranch Palos Verdes – an option for Rolling Hills Residents?

For me, Rolling Hills is a tough place to imagine leaving.  Access to the trails and the spaciousness are amazing characteristics that I’ve come to love.  At the same time, many of us travel often and issues of maintenance can be a burden while we’re away from home.  If you’re thinking about downsizing or looking for a great place that will offer you easy access to trails right next to Terranea or the Pacific Ocean, have I got a home for you!

This is a terrific town home and is now on the market for a new, lowered price of $929,000.  This is in a premium development that includes only 20 homes, yet includes a pool, spa and tennis courts.  I’ve gotten to know this home very well during open houses, and it’s got some great features.  Much of the entire first floor could easily be developed into a great HOME THEATRE!  The third floor bedroom could easily be converted into a master suite with spectacular ocean views.

Come by and have a look for yourself!  I’ll be there this Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 PM.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Rolling Hills – a Recent Sale and a Good Investment?

Recently a home on Georgeff Road sold in less than a week after it was introduced to the market!  Great views + in great shape.  Clearly the buyer’s didn’t want to let this property slip by and they believed the price to be right for them.  They’re not likely to be looking at the short term.  Could this be an investment that they’re expecting to appreciate over time?

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with a financial advisor – he’s a great advisor and someone who knows his business really well.  He gave me kudos for how my retirement funds have been performing.  The interesting thing about the discussion was how great my REAL ESTATE has performed.

Obviously I’m not in his league when it comes to stocks and mutual funds, but I feel like I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have access to some wonderful properties.  Buy and hold has been a good strategy.  Here’s some objective data that I hope you’ll find helpful if you’re looking for information on comparisons.  Another great thing about real estate:  YOU GET TO LIVE IN IT!  If anything this should be your best reason to buy a home!
